The world has a digital crisis. We have not had the available talent to fill all the new jobs that are being created. Academia isn't able to prepare a new digital workforce. Traditionally, trade schools which are practice and mentor heavy are better equipped to train craft practitioners. However, the technologies are evolving at a rate that the trade schools can't keep up. We must dig deeper to another model. Apprenticeships are distributed teaching that has been effective for thousands of years. The talk will examine what a modern apprenticeship looks like and how it relates to creating a new skilled workforce with strong networks of professionals.
